Pastoral Ministries

Pastoral Ministries

Some faithful are called to serve in various and diverse roles to support the mission of the Church and share their faith with others. Below are just a few of these ministries active at the St. Joseph Cathedral.  If you are interested in learning more about serving in any of these ministries, please call the parish office.

Respect Life Committee

The Respect Life Committee addresses various issues with respect to the sanctity of life, from conception to natural death and promotes awareness within the parish.

This committee organizes various "Respect Life" activities and fundraisers throughout the year,  including the Mother’s Day Flower Sale to benefit Birthright, the October Baby Shower to benefit Our Place and Respect Life Sunday celebration within the Parish.

Respect Life Committee Mission Statement:

We, the members of the Respect Life Committee of Saint Joseph Cathedral Parish, in response to the Gospel of Life, commit ourselves to prayer, education, and action in defense of life. It is our mission to foster in our parish and the community at large an awareness of the dignity and sanctity of all human life, from conception to natural death. We are dedicated to observing and promoting the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church on all life issues, including abortion, contraception, capital punishment, euthanasia, infanticide, assisted suicide, human trafficking and embryonic stem cell research.

Eucharist to the Homebound

Commissioned Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Eucharist to homebound parishioners.

Adorers

Adorers pray before the Blessed Sacrament during times of Adoration on Wednesdays, Saturdays, First Fridays and other times as designated.

Cathedral Outreach

The Cathedral Outreach Team are men and women of the parish dedicated to the needs of the poor and underprivileged.

The third weekend of each month is "Brown Bag Sunday." Parishioners are invited to bring donations of non-perishable items to the entrances of the Cathedral before Mass. All donated items help stock the shelves of the Cathedral Outreach Food Pantry.

A food pantry is open every Tuesday by appointment only. Please call the Rectory Office on Tuesday morning to make an appointment, 603 622-6404.

Consolers/Berevement Ministry

Consolers help families through one of the most difficult times of their lives - the loss of a loved one. They assist in planning the funeral Mass and walk with the family during their time of need.

If you are interested in joining this ministry, please contact the parish office.
